For those of you who didn’t make notes the key information from Justin was:
There are two principal ways of effectively turning a colour image into b&w; the Channel Mixer (try to maintain 100%) and Lab colours Brightness channel.
Actions are our friend.
Using Layers is easy, they permit us the luxury of going back and readjusting settings, painting a portion of a layer back in etc., etc.
Entries for our STSC Exhibition need to be delivered and registered at our next Group Studies evening on 10th September. To help ensure that as many submitting members as possible hangs at least one image, please indicate your first preference print with a (1) after your name on the rear top left corner of the matt.

Our next meeting (Wednesday 27th August) is a competition evening with the set subject of Light and Shadow with our guest adjudicator Andy Reimanis.
Two images either digital or print may be entered.

EXHIBITION
This years Exhibition will be from the 22nd September to the 26th of
October 2008. Members please start planning your entry to this most
prestigious exhibition.
1. Conditions for members submitting work are as follows:
a. 2 entries per member,
b. entries to be delivered and registered 10th September (group studies meeting.)
c. MATT SIZE: to be exactly 400x500mm to fit club frames
d. choice of matt colour optional
e. PRINT SIZE: no smaller than A4 210x297mm no lager than 380x480mm.
f. Title and photographers name to be printed on back of matt board
g. Entries by financial members only.
MEMBERSHIP FEES
Please Note: Only financial members for club year 2008 / 2009 have access to Members Only sections of this site.
Non-financial members must pay their fees before being reinstated to the 'Members Only' areas , entering competition or submitting images for the STSC Exhibition. On 31st August non-financial members gallery submissions will be removed.
Our fees are $40pa single member,which includes the $5.50 STSC sub-club fee, family couples $60 and junior members (Under 18) are half price.
Please also remember that your STSC annual $10 social membership fee will, unless previously paid, also become due.
Full PAC membership is only complete when both fees are paid.

Remember that your camera is just a tool. Don't pamper it. You can always buy a new one. If you leave your camera in a closet, it will never get dirty or broken, but you won't have too many great photographs to show for yourself. Many of the best photographs can only be taken under conditions that will render your equipment wet and/or filthy. That's life. |
